Our Testimony – Search and Rescue Christian Fellowship

Search and Rescue Christian Fe

The Search and Rescue Christian Fellowship was founded by Alfie and Ben after seeing the incredible work being carried out by Christian organisations serving within the emergency services, including Firefighters for Christ, the Christian Ambulance Association, and the Christian Police Association.

Having both served in the volunteer search and rescue sector for several years, we have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated team members from many different organisations. Through conversations with fellow volunteers and discussions about faith, we began to recognise something that seemed to be missing within our sector: a community specifically for Christians involved in search and rescue.

We saw a need to bring together those who share both a passion for serving others and a commitment to following Jesus Christ. Search and rescue can be physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding, and we believe that Christian volunteers benefit greatly from encouragement, fellowship, prayer, and the shared support of like-minded believers.

With this vision in mind, we established the Search and Rescue Christian Fellowship. Our aim is to create a network where Christians involved in search and rescue can connect, support one another, grow in their faith, and be encouraged in their service.

Psalm 121:1–2 has become a particularly meaningful passage for us:

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."

As search and rescue volunteers, we are often called into challenging environments and difficult situations. These verses remind us that our ultimate help, strength, and guidance come not from ourselves, but from God, who watches over us and those we serve.

At present, we are building our community through our social media platforms, where we share Scripture, prayer requests, devotional thoughts, and words of encouragement. While we are still in the early stages of this journey, we trust that God will guide and grow this ministry according to His purpose.

Our prayer is that the Search and Rescue Christian Fellowship will become a place of fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual support for Christians across the search and rescue community. We look forward to seeing what God has planned for the future and pray that He will use this fellowship to strengthen believers and bring glory to His name.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." — Colossians 3:23
