Craster Kippers

I’m Andy Smith, Ambassador for Transform Work.

I love kippers. Getting a vacuum packed packet from the supermarket, grilling them and having them with salad and new potatoes. Yum. Then one year we were on holiday in Northumbria and we made the effort to visit Craster where they smoke them. It was fascinating. We bought some freshly smoked kippers and had them with some bread and margarine. Wow. Talk about the good being the enemy of the best. The taste was amazing.

Our walk with the Lord can get like this if we are not careful. Rather than making the effort to seek out an authentic walk with Jesus, we can easily and unwittingly settle for a sort of vacuum packed Christianity.

Today, are you prepared to make the effort to truly seek Jesus or just settle for a lesser vacuum packed alternative?
